First Officer Sonny Ruff has been working with Pilot Peer Support at ALPA-I since 2019. He is serving as the Pilot Peer Support Vice-Chair, an MEC Aeromedical Committee member at United Airlines, and an Aeromedical SME at APLA-I. Sonny flies the Boeing 757/767 and is based in Washington, D.C. He resides in Ridgeland, MS with his husband and their two children. In his spare time, Sonny works as an Emergency Nurse Practitioner. He received a Bachelor’s and Master’s of Science in Nursing from the University of Mississippi Medical Center and his Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the University of Alabama.
