Jeffrey Mee is a Boeing 757/767 Captain for United Airlines. Over his 25+ year career, he has participated in numerous major aircraft accident investigations. Since 2019, he has served as Chair of the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA) Accident Analysis and Prevention Group and Vice-Chair of the International Federation of Air Line Pilots’ Associations (IFALPA) equivalent committee.
An active instructor for ALPA’s accident investigation courses and a member of its Accident Investigation Board, Jeffrey mentors and supports investigators during major accident inquiries. His safety advocacy extends globally, he represents pilot interests as a member of the ICAO Accident Investigation Panel (AIGP), the US Commercial Aviation Safety Team (USCAST), and as a subject matter expert for the IATA Accident Classification Task Force (ACTF). He also recently co-chaired the Investigative Technologies Aviation Rulemaking Committee (ARC), completed in 2025.
Jeffrey began his aviation career in 1998 with Business Express Airlines, later transitioning through American Eagle before joining Continental Airlines and subsequently United. He holds type ratings on the Saab SF-340, ATR-42/72, Boeing 737, and Boeing 757/767. He earned his B.S. in Business Administration from the University of New Hampshire and still resides in the state with his wife Kelly and son Cooper.
