
Throughout the history of the commercial airline industry, aviation security has been mainly focused on protecting passengers, flight crews, and aircraft from physical threats and there are critically important improvements that are still needed. As we embark on a new era in aviation, there is a new era of security threats, and a holistic approach must be undertaken to ensure the National Airspace System remains safe AND secure. This panel, From Checkpoints to Flight Decks and Beyond: An All-Encompassing Look at Aviation Security, will dive into today’s hot topics from risk based physical security, to inflight security threats and the importance of secondary barriers, and recently emerging threats including cybersecurity, as well as GPS Jamming and Spoofing.
