Dr. Tanner J. Furr is a commercial space operations subject matter expert for The Air Line Pilots Association, International. Tanner holds a Master of Science degree in Aeronautics and Space Studies from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and a Doctorate in Aviation specialized in Space Operations from The Florida Institute of Technology. Tanner has published significant academic work on the challenges associated with the integration of commercial space operations into the national airspace system and has also worked to solve real-time practical issues associated with commercial space integration alongside his counterparts at the FAA, the DOT, and within the U.S. commercial space industry. As a current Boeing 737 Captain for Delta Air Lines, Tanner is also a daily user of the NAS with over 5,000 hours flown. Tanner has previously served as an officer, and M1A2 Abrams Tank Commander, in the United States Army.
