Paul Behan is a graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Daytona Beach, 2004) with a B.S. in Air Traffic Management. He was hired as an Air Traffic Control Specialist at the Jacksonville Air Route Traffic Control Center (ZJX) in 2006, where he has been proud union member of the National Air Traffic Controllers Association (NATCA) since day one. Over nearly 20 years he has served NATCA in many elected and appointed representational positions, including labor/relations, legislative activism & education, and as a specialty collaborative representative. In 2018 Paul was selected to serve as the National Commercial Space Representative and represents NATCA in all matters pertaining to the integration of space launch and re-entry operations into the National Airspace System, which includes airspace & procedures development, safety/risk analysis & mitigation, and development & deployment of new ATC technologies. Paul is also a commercial pilot & certified flight instructor, and enjoys recreational flying when time permits.
