Kyle R. Quakenbush is a Principal Aviation Systems Engineer at The MITRE Corporation, where he has served since March 2020. In this role, he manages several key aviation safety initiatives, including oversight of the Aviation Safety Information Analysis and Sharing (ASIAS) program. As the ASIAS Program Lead, Mr. Quakenbush directs program activities and serves as Co-Chair of the United States Aviation Safety Team, representing MITRE as the primary partner for ASIAS.

Previously, Mr. Quakenbush served as Tri-Chair of the General Aviation Issue Analysis Team (IAT), where he led and contributed to a range of ASIAS studies. In this capacity, he facilitated collaboration between industry and government stakeholders to advance safety mitigations and outreach efforts.

Prior to joining MITRE, Mr. Quakenbush was Manager of Flight Operational Quality Assurance (FOQA) and Fatigue Risk Management Plan (FRMP) programs at Spirit Airlines. He brings extensive experience from multiple FAA Part 135 and Part 121 air carriers. While at Spirit Airlines, he worked closely with the ASIAS program, serving as industry Co-Chair for the Approach and Landing Misalignment Study and leading the Denver TCAS-RA Mitigation Industry Working Group.

Mr. Quakenbush is a commercial pilot and certified flight instructor. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Administration and Flight Science from Western Michigan University.
