Andrew Tangel is an enterprise reporter covering aviation safety and regulation for The Wall Street Journal.

In this role, he has written about emerging aviation safety risks and other topics that may involve the Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board.
Previously, Andrew covered the American aerospace giant Boeing and U.S. airlines. He has written extensively about two fatal crashes of Boeing’s 737 MAX jets in 2018 and 2019 and their aftermath.

Andrew joined the Journal in 2014 to cover transportation in New York City. He came from the Los Angeles Times, where he covered Wall Street as a national business correspondent. Before that, he worked at newspapers in New Jersey, Delaware, Missouri and Kentucky.

A native of Louisville, Ky., he holds a bachelor's in political science from DePauw University and a master’s in journalism from Columbia University.
