Rick Mahoney is a First Officer on the Boeing 737 with Delta Air Lines and serves both as the ALPA International Aeromedical Chair and Delta ALPA MEC Aeromedical Vice Chair. He was the previous HIMS & Aeromedical Committee Chair at Spirit Airlines and Aeromedical Vice Chair for ALPA International. Rick has previous clinical healthcare experience in cardiology, emergency medicine and mental health. Rick is the former Chairman of the Board of Directors for Love the Golden Rule, a clinical healthcare non-profit in Tampa Bay, Florida providing infectious disease and primary care to vulnerable patient populations.

He serves as an advocate for LGBT pilots and their medical issues and previously served as the Aeromedical Chairman for the National Gay Pilots Association. While in that position, he helped to change aeromedical policy in the United Kingdom working with the non-profit agency HIV Scotland for individuals with HIV seeking commercial pilot certification.

Rick holds a Bachelor's Degree in Professional Aeronautics from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and has completed Executive Education in Management at Harvard Business School and Mental Health Leadership at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
